Not everyone can sew a folk costume, if only because for this you need a sewing machine. But almost anyone can make an elegant kokoshnik with their own hands.
Kokoshnik is the main decoration of the Russian folk costume. It is a headdress in the form of a comb, complemented by various ornaments.
In order to make a kokoshnik for a child, you will need:
- a small piece of thick cardboard for making the base, - fabric to match the main suit, - accessories for decoration (sequins, beads, rhinestones, in general - any tinsel, preferably shiny), - elastic band or tape for convenient fixation of the kokoshnik on the head, - thread, needle, glue.
To make a kokoshnik with your own hands, take cardboard and make a base for a kokoshnik out of it. You can choose any shape of the comb, there are many options in the pictures on the Internet. Try to make the size to match the size of the child's head. For a symmetrical blank, use a plain paper template folded in half.
Then cover the resulting shape with a cloth. It is better to take stretch fabrics, such as knitwear. It is more convenient to work with them. Now the kokoshnik can be decorated. Imagine. Use the material at hand.
For convenient fixation, attach an elastic band to the kokoshnik or sew on ribbons, you can use both.
As you can see, there is nothing difficult in making a kokoshnik with your own hands.
