Painting on glass, especially window glass, is becoming increasingly popular at the present time. This is due to the fact that in this way two tasks are solved at once: the room becomes more elegant from the inside and an unpainted view from the window is hidden. Depending on the goal you are pursuing, you should fill in a small piece of glass or most of it.

It is necessary

  • - liquid for washing windows
  • - pencil
  • - paper
  • - goddess
  • - brush
  • - gouache
  • - bend paints
  • - contour for glass

Instructions

Step 1

Wash the window well. In no case should you neglect this stage of work, even if you are sure that the glass is clean. Dust particles caught in one place under the paint can spoil the impression of the whole composition. If the window cleaner you are using contains alcohol, this will only be an additional plus, since the glass must be degreased before painting.

Step 2

Sketch the pattern you want to transfer onto the glass on a piece of paper. Be sure to think about the shape and color of the picture. Divide your drawing into zones with different colors so that you know during work where you need to put the outline strip.

Step 3

Transfer your drawing to the glass using a stencil or by hand. As a stencil, you can use a sketch prepared on paper: cut out the areas that will need to be painted over, and circle the contours, attaching a sheet to the glass. Working without stencils, draw outlines with the help of gouache and a thin brush, first stepping back 2-3 mm from the place where they should be located, so that later the sketch can be washed off without damaging the finished drawing.

Step 4

Apply an outline for the stained glass paint to the window. It will prevent the fill from flowing and perform a decorative function. Choose an outline of a suitable color: contrasting or matching the color of your drawing. Pressing evenly on the tube with the composition and at a constant speed so that the line is the same thickness, slide it over the glass.

Step 5

Fill the areas outlined with the outline with paints on glass. First fill in the parts for which there is a pure color in the paint set. After that, mix complex shades in a separate bowl.

Step 6

Apply paint to glass using soft squirrel hair brushes. They can be replaced with a foam sponge to give the design an unusual texture. Lightly rub the borders between the colors with a brush and let the colors mix to achieve a smooth color transition.
