In a knitted coat, your little daughter will be warm and good on a cool day. You can knit such a thing in just a few hours if you have thick soft yarn and thick knitting needles. A summer coat for a child is best made without seams and without lining.

Materials and tools

It is convenient to knit a summer children's coat with raglan from thick DATCHA yarn (wool with acrylic). Knitting needles # 5 or 5, 5 are suitable for such threads. You will also need a small detachable zipper to match the color of the yarn. The coat is knitted with one fabric, so it is not necessary to make a pattern. Take some measurements. You need to know the girths of the neck, chest and hips, the length of the product and the length of the sleeve. Tie 3 samples - 2x2 elastic bands, hosiery or garter stitches and "putan". For an elastic band, take knitting needles # 5, for a "putan", stocking or shawl - # 5, 5. "Putanka" is knitted as follows. Knit the first row with an elastic band 1x1, the second - according to the picture. In the third row, knit the purl over the front one, the front over the purl, the fourth one according to the pattern. From the fifth row, the pattern is repeated.

The beginning of knitting from the neck

The coat is knitted at the top, so calculate the starting amount based on your neck girth. Divide the total by 6. 1/6 will go on the sleeves, 2/6 - on the front and back. If the number of stitches is not divisible by 6, round up. Type the estimated number of loops on the needles number 5 and start knitting an elastic band for a stand-up collar. The collar on a children's coat should not be very high, an elastic band of 2-3 cm will be enough.

Raglan

Go to the needles No. 5, 5 and go to the "putan" by adding or subtracting loops according to the calculation of the sample. Divide the loops into 6 sections. Mark the future raglan lines. You can do this with threads of a different color, you will remove them later. The row starts from the edge of the shelf, that is, from 1/6 of the total number of loops. Knit it until 1 loop remains on this section. Be sure to knit it with a purl, then make a reverse yarn over. For the section of the row that is intended for the sleeve, start with 2 front loops, then make a reverse yarn over and purl. Thus, each of the four raglan lines looks like 1 purl, 1 reverse yarn, 2 facial, 1 reverse yarn, 1 purl. Knit a section of the sleeve until there are 3 loops to the next line. Knit 1 purl, reverse yarn over, knit 2. The part of the row set aside for the back begins with the reverse yarn and the front. Mark the remaining raglan lines in the same way. In the next row, knit raglan according to the pattern. Reverse yarns are performed only in odd rows.

End of work

Knit raglan to chest line. Then remove the sleeves with an additional thread, and knit the shelves and back in the same pattern until 3 cm remains until the bottom line. Go to hosiery (knit row, purl row), knit 3 cm, then knit a row on the front side with purl loops, knit another 3 cm in garter stitch and close the loops. The sleeves are comfortable to knit on five knitting needles. They are knitted right up to the cuffs without additions or subtractions. Without knitting 3 cm to the bottom of the sleeve, go to the same elastic with which you knitted the collar. The coat is almost ready, it remains only to hem the hem with a stitching seam and sew in a zipper. Embroidery or appliqué looks great on the "putanka", so you can decorate the coat to your liking.
