Step 1
Before you start knitting a baby coat with knitting needles, prepare the threads. Wind one woolen thread and two acrylics together. Determine the size of the future coat. The main parameter in this case is the growth of the child. Find the appropriate children's size chart in knitting guides or on the Internet and compare the measurements that you took from the child's figure with it. For example, if a child is 90-100 cm tall, size 98 would be most appropriate. In accordance with it, when knitting the back of the future coat, you should dial 79 (+/- 10) loops using knitting needles 5, 5. You can choose the appropriate pattern yourself.
Step 2
In each 16th row on both sides, subtract one stitch 5 times. Start decreasing the loops for the armhole as soon as the height of the product is 33 centimeters. You need to decrease one loop in every second row 6 times. When you reach 49 centimeters, close 25 neck loops and 16 loops for each shoulder.
Step 3
Start knitting the right shelf. Cast on 47 stitches. Knit should be in the same pattern as the back. In every 16th row, subtract the stitches from the side seam one by one 6 times. In every fourth row, bind off 3 loops to make the buttonholes. Draw the thread around your index finger and thumb so that the free end of the thread is the front wall of the loop. Insert the right knitting needle under the front wall. Tighten the loop by removing your thumb.
Step 4
Make 6 "decreases" for the armhole at 33 centimeters. Upon reaching a height of 43 centimeters, you need to remove 11 loops on the auxiliary knitting needle. Cut the neckline by closing 2 times in three loops and 2 times in two loops. At the 49cm mark, close the 16 shoulder loops. Tie the left shelf symmetrically to the right one.
Step 5
Start knitting the sleeves. Cast on 39 stitches. Select the pattern, as with the previous parts. Make seven additions on both sides, one stitch in every sixth row. As a result, you will get 53 loops. When you reach a height of 18 centimeters, make 6 "decreases" in every second row, one loop on both sides. Bind off 3 times, 5 sts each on the sides and 11 stitches in the center.
Step 6
To make the coat look beautiful, knit the original collar. Cast on 63 stitches. After tying 6 centimeters, close on both sides 2 times one loop at a time, then close all remaining loops.
Step 7
Start assembling the product. Finish the edges of all parts. Tuck the knitted piping neatly and sew on the wrong side. Sew into the armholes of the sleeves, sew on the collar. Sew one button on the outside of each sleeve at the cuffs and 4 buttons along the hem on the left shelf so that they are opposite the holes on the other side and the coat zips loosely. You can make your coat even more beautiful by decorating the collar and cuffs with lace patterns. Decorate your coat with contrasting trims, such as checkered. Try sewing on buttons in a brighter shade.
