Correctly selected tackle is the key to successful fishing. For a beginner angler, it will be most correct to start mastering a float rod. This is the simplest and most effective fishing tackle available. The rod consists of a line, a float, a sinker and a hook. All these elements, except for the float, are fixed permanently. The float, on the other hand, must be able to move freely along the line, thereby regulating the depth to which the bait will fall.

Step 1
For a deaf fastening of the float, take a piece of wire and a cambric. Pass the wire through the ring on the body of the float and, bending it into a loop, twist it into a pigtail. The resulting loop should not pinch the float and its ring should hang freely on it.
Step 2
File the edges of the braids with a file so that they do not damage the line in the future.
Step 3
Slide the free end of the line from the rod through the cambric and insert the twisted wire into it. The degree of slip will depend on the thickness of the resulting pigtail. If the structure dangles freely on the line, then the wire must be replaced with a thicker one. Now you can carefully move the fixed float along the line as you need it.
Step 4
To secure the float with a two-point blind mount, take two cambric, the diameter of which will correspond to the thickness of the keel on the float.
Step 5
Successively push the free end of the line through them and fix each at the bottom and top of the keel, respectively. The float is ready to move.
Step 6
For long-range casting and catching predators such as pike, use a slide-on float on the rod. With this design, use larger floats to support the bait in the form of live bait.
Step 7
If your float is not adapted for free mounting, equip it yourself with this function. In place of the keel, drill a hole through the body of the float. It should be of such a diameter that the line runs freely in it and does not cling to anything.
Step 8
Slide the line into the prepared bead and then into the float. Take a small piece of thinner line and loop it around the main line. Holding the resulting loop by one end, wrap the main part of the line with the second 4-5 times and push it inside the loop. Pull the ends and tighten the knot. The bead will protect the main line from friction and knot slippage through the float. Tie a hook with a sinker and the tackle is ready. The float will be able to move quietly within the fixed knot.
