The flag of the Russian Federation is required for most official events. However, there are not always nearby shops selling symbols and attributes of the state. Another reason that does not allow using the finished product is its price. Therefore, in order to save money, it is quite possible to sew the Russian flag on your own, having the simplest skills in handling a sewing machine.

Step 1
How to sew the Russian flag in accordance with the specified length and width? It is important to know that the tricolor has a width to length ratio of 2: 3. That is, if the width of the proposed flag is 60 cm, then its length will be 90 cm.
Step 2
Any opaque flowing fabric, for example, silk, is required for manufacturing. Also for this purpose, a lining material is suitable, which combines opacity, good drapery properties, two-sided direction and, importantly, low cost. The width of this fabric is 145 cm.
Step 3
The flag will require three stripes of white, blue and red with dimensions of 20x90 cm (without seam allowances). That is, it is enough to purchase three flaps of different colors 25 cm wide (such a margin in case the edges of the flaps are cut unevenly).
Step 4
Make blanks of each color with allowances for seams and taking into account the diameter of the pole on which the flag will be attached. The allowances for the inner seams are 1 cm, for the outer ones (top, side outer and bottom) - 1.5 cm. The allowance for the seams on the side of the shaft is 3-4 cm, depending on its thickness (+ 1 cm for the hem).
Step 5
Thus, the white and red cloth will be 20cm + 1cm + 1.5 cm * 90 cm + 1.5 cm + 4 cm. The final size will be 22.5x95.5 cm. The blue cloth will be 22x95 cm. stitching fragments of the flag.
Step 6
Sew the white and blue fabrics with a seam, then sew the bottom (red) in the same way. How to sew a Russian flag to minimize the visibility of the seams? Considering that panels of different colors are sewn, thread the upper and lower threads of the corresponding color into the machine and bend the three outer sides by 1.5 cm. Then make a 3 cm hem for the shaft + 1 cm for the seam itself. Smooth the product with an iron and put it on the shaft.
