It is possible to save on everything in this life, but is it advisable? For example, curtains with eyelets have become very popular in recent years. This is not the cheapest version of the curtains, but so alluring. Textile salons have special machines that knock out edged holes on the fabric.

Step 1
So, you are eager to make the eyelets yourself. First, go to the store. You have to decide which eyelets you want to see on your curtains - metal or plastic, round or figure, colored or solid. And in the final, decide on the diameter.
Step 2
Now is the time to decide on the number of eyelets. There is a little secret here: there can be only an even number so that the edges of the curtains look in the same direction. It is assumed that you know the footage of the fabric and take into account another important subtlety of a new case for you - the distance between the eyelets (their centers) should be in the range of 15-22 cm, and the first and last eyelets must be no closer than 5-7 cm from every edge. To help you decide, keep in mind that wide-set eyelets produce large waves, while closer-set eyelets produce shallower waves.
Step 3
Get to work. Be sure to secure the top of your shade with eyelet tape. This is necessary for the strength of the material in the area of the eyelets. The width of the tape directly depends on the diameter of the eyelets you choose. And don't forget a few centimeters of allowance. Now measure the double width of the eyelet tape on the fabric, wrap it neatly inward, arm yourself with an iron and glue it to the curtain.
Step 4
You have come to the stage of marking for eyelets, especially since you have already decided on the distance between them. Now take a ruler and measure out the segments, while placing points on the material with a pencil. If you are the proud owner of a special eyelet punch, this process will not take you a little time. Alternatively, use regular scissors to cut holes. Approach this event carefully so that the edge of the material does not sweep. Remember that there are several layers in the area where the work is in full swing, and you must make holes of the same size in all of them.
Step 5
Take the eyelets. Their fastening begins. Place the two halves of the eyelet on opposite sides of the hole made and squeeze hard. A click will serve as a signal that the job is done. Now you are able to install eyelets.
