In April 2016, Michelle died suddenly. She died in her sleep at her own home in Los Angeles. The cause of death was heart disease, which she did not even suspect, and the use of drugs that caused serious complications and disruption of the heart.
In the summer of 2017, Patton announced that he was engaged to actress Meredith Salenger. Within a few months they became husband and wife.
