Step 2
Link the sample before you get started. Cast on the knitting needles with which you will knit 12 loops and knit 12 rows. Measure the resulting sample. The fact is that even if you find the yarn indicated in the description, you need to knit the sample. Each knitter has her own hand and her own knitting density. Someone knits tightly, someone loosely. This determines the size of the garment at the exit. Based on the sample, calculate how many loops you need to dial in order to end up with a sweater of a suitable size.
Step 3
Cast on the required number of stitches on the knitting needles. The bottom of the sweater is usually knitted with a 1x1, 2x2 or 3x3 elastic. If you need to knit with a 1x1 elastic band, remove the hem, knit the next loop with the front one, then the wrong one, and so on. In the next rows, repeat the pattern of the previous row, that is, knit the front loops over the front loops, purl over the purl loops. If you need a 2x2 elastic, then after the edge band you need to knit 2 facial, then 2 purl, and alternate them, if 3x3, respectively, you need to alternate 3 facial and 3 purl.
Step 4
Usually a sweater is knitted from the bottom up, but there are also such patterns that need to be performed from top to bottom or from right to left, or even from the center. Carefully study the instructions for the model before proceeding directly to knitting. In the event that the sweater is not knitted from the bottom up, there can be many options for starting - this is not necessarily an elastic band. This happens rarely, but it is still better to be more careful so that you do not have to dissolve your work.
