If you bought a new golf club, don't rush to the rink with it right away. First, your hockey tool must be prepared. Preparation means wrapping the elements of the club with special tape. Wrapping the handle with tape (tape) prevents the stick from slipping out of the hands, and wrapping the hook increases the grip of the puck and the club upon impact. There is also an alternative to winding, but first things first.

Step 1
Hook wrapping improves the grip of the puck and putter. It is very important to wrap the hook evenly and with good tension. Uneven winding increases the risk of impaired accuracy. Some hockey players start wrapping around the stick from the heel, while others from the end. It makes no sense to wrap the wide half of the vertical part of the hook, but the heel can be wrapped to avoid ice crumbling.
Step 2
Wrap the hook, starting from the heel or toe in one layer, pulling it tightly. Then the tape needs to be cut.
Step 3
Before wrapping the handle, you need to adjust the length of the stick. There is no point in putting it off since you are getting your golf club ready for use. Anything above the level of the tip of your nose can be sawed off with a metal hacksaw for a composite club or a wood hacksaw for a wooden club. After sawing off excess, process the chamfers.
Step 4
Start the first layer of tape from the top of the club. After winding 10-15 cm obliquely, unwind the tape about half a meter and twist it so that you can gently rewind it. When rewinding, the distance between the turns of 2-3 cm should be observed. Make a slight thickening with the tape at the top, and then again cover the handle with it from top to bottom.
Step 5
Recently, special stickers have found widespread use for themselves. They replace the winding, but you need to get used to them, because the washer slips less. Stickers are more expensive than wrapping tape. In addition, the stickers do not touch the ribs of the club, so the latter break down faster.
Step 6
Nevertheless, the stickers also have a number of clear advantages: No effort is needed on the winding now;
Stickers are much stronger than tape and do not tear to shreds from long use;
Stickers do not absorb moisture - this means that the weight of the stick does not increase during the game;
Also, the stickers visually ennoble the stick. This is achieved through a variety of colors and ornaments;
Finally, the stickers weigh only 15g, while the tape weights the stick by 100g.
