For flawless and long-term operation of the chainsaw, it is required to periodically adjust its carburetor. This must be done taking into account the specific brand of the device and the standard parameters specified in the technical manual attached to the saw. The efficiency of the entire technical system will depend on the correct adjustment of the carburetor.
It is necessary
- - instruction manual for the chainsaw;
- - tachometer;
- - screwdriver.
Instructions
Step 1
Familiarize yourself with the chainsaw device described in the technical documentation for it. Locate the carburetor jets and adjusting screws. A standard carburetor usually has two or three screws that regulate the flow of the fuel mixture: the idle speed screw, and the high and low speed jet screws.
Step 2
Use the appropriate screws to adjust the high and low speed of the saw motor. They regulate the ratio of fuel to air, which is determined by the degree of opening of the throttle valve. To make the mixture lean, turn the corresponding screw clockwise. If it is necessary to increase the engine speed (that is, to enrich the mixture), unscrew the screw by turning it counterclockwise.
Step 3
The idle speed is also adjusted by turning the required screw. Turn the adjuster clockwise to increase the idle speed. To decrease the engine speed, slowly turn the propeller in the opposite direction.
Step 4
When adjusting the carburetor, keep in mind that at the initial stage of using the chainsaw, you must save the factory settings. The parameters set by the manufacturer are calculated for a richer mixture. After several hours of saw operation, you can begin to self-adjust the carburetor.
Step 5
Warm up the saw at full speed for 10-20 seconds. Then unscrew the high speed jet screw counterclockwise. After ten seconds, check the maximum engine speed with a tachometer and compare the data obtained with those indicated in the technical passport of the device. A too lean mixture makes the saw "screech"; with excessive enrichment of the mixture, smoke appears from the muffler.
Step 6
Be careful when changing settings, as sudden changes in high RPM will significantly affect the power of the unit and the speed of the chain. The depletion of the hot mixture leads to excessive, excessive revolutions, which can lead to the failure of the chainsaw.
