Landscapes and still lifes are the favorite genres of artists, because nature can provide so many different ideas for creativity. The golden field of wheat, combined with the piercing blue of the sky and snow-white clouds, just asks for the canvas.

How to draw wheat

It is necessary

  • - paper;
  • - pencil;
  • - paints.

Instructions

Step 1

It is better to draw the fields from nature, or at least, looking at a large high-quality photograph. Take a piece of paper and place it horizontally. Use a pencil to outline the horizon where the wheat field ends. Draw the outlines of the clouds and the position of the sun.

Step 2

At this stage, you need to finally decide what else will be present in the picture. It can be a carved birch tree a little to the side, a strip of distant forest, a country road along the field, birds soaring in the blue. All this you need to note on your sketch is still rather schematic, a couple of strokes for each object.

Step 3

Then you can work with paints, you will no longer need a pencil. Watercolor is more difficult to paint than gouache. If you are still an inexperienced artist, you need to try all means of expression, as there are modern acrylics and classic oils.

Step 4

To get a heavenly blue, experiment on the palette with dilution of white with a drop of blue, add red at the tip of the brush. Mix and achieve similarities to nature or photography. Make two shades of a successful color - darker and lighter. Paint over a strip of sky with the resulting paint. Create a smooth transition from light at the top to darker at the bottom, where the sky on the horizon meets a wheat field receding into the distance.

Step 5

When the paint is dry, paint in pure white clouds. Add some black to create a grayish tint and give volume to these objects. This is done simply: trace the bottom contour of the clouds with a soft round brush. Using the same rounded lines, draw another shape in the middle of the cloud with gray paint. The darkest color should be at the bottom.

Step 6

Fill the wheat field with paint, which you will make from yellow with the addition of brown. Achieve a nice golden hue. Make several tones of paint to get a transition from lighter spikelets in front to darker ones in the distance. To depict individual spikelets, take a thin brush and paint on it a dark shade of paint. Draw spikelets with small vertical strokes, detail the elements with a diagonal lattice.

Step 7

Paint the distant forest at the edge of the horizon with a paint made from dark green mixed with blue, purple and a drop of white. In the foreground, for a more picturesque picture, draw celestial cornflowers lost among the ears of wheat.
