Step 1
The registration of weapons purchased by private individuals is carried out by the departments of licensing and permitting work, which are usually located at the address of the internal affairs body in whose territory you live.

To begin with, you should know that there are types of weapons for which an individual cannot obtain a license. These are short-barreled combat weapons (revolvers and pistols), automatic combat weapons (machine guns, submachine guns, grenade launchers), as well as weapons of models not included in the list of the State Weapons Cadastre. Obtaining a license for other types of weapons is not prohibited by law.

The procedure for obtaining a license for different types of weapons may have some differences, but the general principles remain the same. Consider what is required to obtain a permit for a self-defense weapon.
Step 4
A self-defense weapon license is a card that has your photograph on it. On the back of such a license, the weapon you purchased is entered (no more than five units). This category includes gas pistols and revolvers, as well as traumatic weapons.

Step 6
A prerequisite for obtaining a license is a metal box or safe for storing weapons. The box must be installed appropriately.
Step 7
Employees of the licensing and permitting department consider the documents you submitted within ten days. After this period, a decision is made to accept the application for consideration, otherwise an official refusal is sent to you.
Step 8
With a positive decision, you must pass an exam on the knowledge of the rules for carrying, storing and using self-defense weapons. The very license for such weapons is issued within a month, but in some cases the period may be increased.
Step 9
Having received a license, you have the right to purchase a weapon. Please note that, since a license for self-defense weapons is issued for a period of five years, you have the right to acquire weapons not immediately, but during the entire period of validity of the permit.
Step 10
You must register the acquired self-defense weapon with the licensing and permitting department within two weeks. Your weapon will be entered into the observation business, from this period the experience of using the weapon will be calculated.
Step 11
Renewal of a license is carried out in the same manner as obtaining a new one. You must renew your license three months before the end of its five-year term.
