Recording a live broadcast over the Internet is possible in two ways: capturing a video stream and recording from a screen. Many programs can cope with these tasks, in particular, VirtualDub, VLC and Camtasia Studio.

Instructions

Step 1

To record the broadcast without problems, you must have a high-speed connection, download and install a capture program. The best way to do this is with Camtasia Studio. Since the video stream capture function is unstable, the easiest way to record the broadcast is by capturing an image from the screen.

Step 2

Open the link where the video will be streamed. If you do not have a player built into your browser, most likely you will receive a request to open the broadcast in the program installed on your computer. By default, this is Windows Media Player

Step 3

Launch the capture program Camtasia Record and use the sliders to set the size of the window in which the recording will be carried out. If you want to see only the broadcast image, set the frame inside the player. The entire darkened area of the screen will not get into the Camtasia Record "lens"

Step 4

Configure the audio recording parameters in the program. Set the microphone settings you need, through which you can record your comments on what is happening, or a stereo mixer that records all the sounds coming to the audio card.

Step 5

Adjust the video recording settings. Click on the arrow next to the microphone image and select the additional options "Options". The maximum video quality will be when the “Screen capture frame rate” value is 30. If you want to capture a broadcast from the camera, then in the same tab you can configure its parameters. Only in this case you will need to enable it on the main panel: "Webcam on".

Step 6

When everything is set up, at the time of starting the broadcast, click the red "Rec" button on the capture program panel. When finished recording, press “Stop” or “Pause” if the broadcast is temporarily interrupted. A preview window will open. Click "Save & edit", specify where to save the file and select the.avi resolution.

Step 7

After saving the file, another utility will automatically open - Camtasia Studio, where you can finally choose in what quality to save the video file.
