Nowadays, animated and feature films are popular, where the heroes are monsters. They can be both scary and very cute, draw different creatures and come up with a story of their adventures.

Step 1
If you are working with a child and show him how to draw fantastic characters, choose simple shapes. Create a figurine that combines several of the characteristics of real animals. You can use the idea of the animated series "Smeshariki" - to draw, taking a circle as a basis. You can work on light colored paper.
Step 2
Take a soft, simple pencil so that the lines are clearly visible. Draw a large circle. Now decide, together with your child, what details you will "present" your ball constrictor. For example, draw long narrow sly eyes and a charming proboscis instead of a nose, long hare ears and a tail with a tassel, hind legs with membranes and front legs with thin toes.

If you are trying to accustom a teenager to creativity, "smeshariki" will not help you. Browse comic magazines for many different monster drawings and ideas for your image. Usually such creatures do not have a cute character and go for a walk in the dark. Demonic features are often present in their appearance: horns of various shapes, a tail with spines, paws with sharp claws, burning eyes and bloodthirsty teeth.
Step 5
Start drawing with a sketchy sketch, in which you will decide on the pose of the monster and its dimensions. Then sketch out the shape of each body part and the relationship of the details to each other. At this stage, depict all the elements rather schematically, now you need to make the whole figure harmonious and whole.
Step 6
Do not be afraid to make the wrong lines, they can always be erased, and there is no creator without courage and experimentation. It is quite possible that the character will turn out not quite the way you originally intended, no big deal, because you are not drawing a real person.
Step 7
When you have a solid shape, trace its outline clearly. Get busy drawing the details. Refine the position of the hands, the shape of the claws and the details of the face. Gradually make final versions of all the elements. Give volume with the help of chiaroscuro - leave all the protruding parts light, and gradually shade what is removed.
Step 8
Give character to the monster by making an evil squint and a wide grin, showing sharp fangs.
