Reversi is a cult board game between the British and Japanese. You need a board of 8 * 8 cells and 64 chips. The cells are numbered vertically with Latin letters and horizontally with numbers. One plays with white, the second with black chips (they are contrasting on both sides).
Instructions
Step 1
At the very beginning, in the center, place 2 black pieces D5 and E4 and two white pieces D4 and E5. The game has a beginning - an opening, a middle - a middlegame, and an ending - an endgame. The first move is for Black.
Step 2
Place a piece so that between it and the existing pieces on the field there is a row of opponent's pieces, i.e. cover his chips on all sides. The closed row is turned over and remains for the first player.
Step 3
In the event that a piece surrounds the opponent's pieces in all directions at once, they are turned over along all these lines.
Step 4
The second step is the opponent's move, then you will take turns. The main strategy is not to give your opponent the corner of the playing field. The Middlegame is the freest and most difficult part of the game. Here you can strengthen your position.
Step 5
But the most exciting part is in the endgame. Here you should not rush or do the calculations. The counters that determine the ending are counted. Choose any move with a chip.
Step 6
If there are no options, the opponent has the right to move. All chips must be exposed on the board. The winner is the one with the most chips on the field. In case of equality - a draw.
Step 7
There are many strategies in this game. Opening professionals calculate win-win steps in advance in order to take advantage of their opportunities in the middle. Beginners tend to want to grab a corner faster. Pros want to block the opponent's moves or make his possible options their own. This is considered the highest skill among Japanese players in reverse.
Step 8
At the very beginning, each player has the same chances of winning - this is the main interest of the game, but there are not so many steps. It is important to turn over as many opponent's pieces as possible in one move.
Step 9
For beginners, take a basic position at the headlands. The main thing in this game is to have experience and understand its subtleties. Reversi is also called the beginning for mastering the Japanese game of Go.
