Checkers is played in almost every country, although everywhere according to different rules. Indeed, over time, the rules in each state acquired their own characteristics. Two players remain unchanged, and the main task is to beat all the opponent's checkers or "drive" them into a hopeless situation.

It is necessary

playing field with an area of 64 cells, a set of checkers (12 white, 12 black)

Instructions

Step 1

They play on a black-and-white (sometimes red-black, black-beige) field, divided into 64 or 100 squares. The pieces in the game are always the same, but differ from the opponent's checkers in color. They are usually black and white. The rules of the game may differ in the arrangement of the pieces, their number, and the size of the field. Depending on the area of the playing field, there can be 12 or 20 pieces of checkers on it. White always starts the game.

Step 2

In our country, Russian drafts are most often played. The game takes place on black cells. If you are playing white, rotate the board so that there is a black square at the bottom left. Take turns with your opponent. Until a checker becomes a king, it can only move forward diagonally. A simple checker becomes a king when it reaches the last (from you) horizontal line of the opponent. If a simple checker has become a king, turn it over. Now she can walk and hit a few squares diagonally forward. In Russian checkers, a king and a simple checker can beat back.

Step 3

A simple checker "eats" the opponent's checker or king by jumping one square over it, if it is free. The checker will be "eaten" only if it is on the adjacent square diagonally. The striking checker can hit more than once, regardless of the direction, if after one "sacrifice" one more opponent's checker is encountered on its way.

Step 4

If in the course of the fight a checker becomes a king, then it continues to beat in the role of a king. The queen can move in any direction, but only in one direction per turn. She cannot beat a checker, behind which there is no free cell, where the beating king should be. If, on the contrary, there are several free cells behind the "eaten" checker, the king chooses any one. It is prohibited to hit the same checker more than once. If several checkers are "eaten" in one battle, all of them are removed from the field only after the end of the battle.
