Oda is a literary and musical genre originally from antiquity, which experienced its peak in popularity in the 18th century. As a solemn and majestic work, the ode was often dedicated to kings and emperors. Today the genre of ode is almost forgotten in mass literature, but why not compose an ode-congratulation for your loved ones and loved ones? To do this, it is necessary to master some of the canons of the correct odic versification.

Step 1

Learn the specifics of writing an ode genre. The classic ode has many features, but there are only three main ones. These are the so-called odic "hovering", odic delight and lyrical disorder. Even in the 20th century, when the genre almost sunk into oblivion, the poet Vladimir Mayakovsky wrote his work "Ode to Revolution" based on this canonical triad.

Step 2

Choose the one to whom you dedicate the ode. The lack of content and the absence of an addressee in this poetic genre are unacceptable. The ode was originally created as a song of praise in someone's honor.

Step 3

Use the techniques of the odic "hover". That is, the author's gaze in the work is directed, as it were, from top to bottom, which provides a wide overview. This can be seen in an excerpt from Lomonosov's ode "Look at the mountains are high, // Look into your wide fields, // Where is the Volga, the Dnieper, where the Ob flows …". The wide gaze creates the solemn pathos of the ode.

Step 4

Use more exclamation points. This is the main vehicle for creating a mood of odic rapture. And it is thanks to this feature of the ode that works of their own composition in this genre are perfect for performance at home celebrations. They will create the feeling of a holiday and at the same time will be fresh, original and exquisite to decorate a meeting with family and loved ones.

Step 5

Don't just dwell on describing the person to whom the ode is dedicated. Add a bit of lyrical disorder, creative chaos to the work, i.e. Speaking about the subject of your ode, it is permissible to add some reflections on high matters (certainly on high matters, if you really want to write an ode, not a ditty).
