Instructions

Step 1

Free utility Virtual Dub copes with video editing perfectly. It allows you not only to cut out unnecessary fragments and trim video, but to perform various other operations (for example, cutting an audio track). First you need to open the desired video file ("File" - "Open Video"). Then you need to review and mark those points that need to be cut, and roughly remember the location. Further, going to the beginning of the desired fragment, you must press the End key on the keyboard. After this, the beginning can be considered selected.

Step 2

Next, you need to mark the end of the desired part of the video. To do this, move the slider in the progress bar to the desired position and press the "End" key. This marks the end of the specified video segment.

Step 3

Then, to leave the selected area, you need to press the "F7" key, which saves the selected fragment. To cut this part, press the "Delete" key. After that, you need to go to the "Video" section and select the "Direct stream copy" item. This is done in order to preserve the original video format. After that, you can go to the "File" - "Save As" section. After that the required file name is given and the “Save” button is pressed.

Step 4

For more precise adjustment of the desired video moment on the progress bar, you can use the arrow keys on your computer keyboard. Also in the program window there are corresponding buttons ("Go to the next frame") that allow you to adjust the slider with a frame accuracy.
