People who often work with documents sometimes have to photograph text from textbooks, books and other printed literature. In order for the photos to be successful and the text is easily recognized, it is necessary to set up the camera correctly and adhere to a few simple shooting rules.
It is necessary
a camera with a minimum sensor size of 2 million pixels, variable focus, optical zoom, the ability to turn off the flash and a lens with optical stabilization
Instructions
Step 1
Make sure that the page you want to photograph completely covers the frame - it does not go beyond its borders and does not leave white borders. This can be achieved by removing the camera an average of 50 centimeters from the text paper. At the same time, there should be no shadows or reflections on the photographed text. Smooth out any irregularities on the paper, such as the spines of a book or the corners of a newspaper page.
Step 2
Position the camera directly in the center of the text with the lens parallel to the paper. The camera should be as far away from the text as possible, so you will need to increase the zoom to the maximum value. To prevent the camera from jerking when shooting, it is better to place it on a tripod.
Step 3
Turn off the flash to avoid reflections in the picture. If possible, try to photograph the text in natural daylight. If this is not possible, highlight the document on both sides. Place lamps at table level, and not on top of a sheet of paper with text. In this case, open the diaphragm to a greater distance. Choose the highest sensor sensitivity, that is, the ISO indicator. Use an image stabilizer. This is to ensure that white and black shades do not merge in the final image. It is advisable to use manual focus in order to get a clear shot.
Step 4
Set the self-timer. It is better to use the self-timer, which will make it possible to avoid shaking the camera while pressing the button. If the camera does not have a self-timer function, press the button smoothly, without jerking or sudden movements. Otherwise, all focus and stabilization settings will be lost.
Step 5
Take a snapshot of the text. See what happened. If the final image is not correct, repeat the procedure.
