It is necessary

  • - the cloth;
  • - template;
  • - braid with pom-poms.

Instructions

Step 1

In order to make a flower out of fabric that will be used to decorate an album, select a round template for cutting out blank petals. This can be a mug, rosette, or glass. You can cut a pattern out of thick cardboard. The flower you make will be about an inch larger than the template diameter.

Step 2

Spread out the fabric chosen for making the flower and cut nine round blanks out of it according to the template. Cut each of the circles in half.

Step 3

Fold each half of the circle in half with the right side inward and sew along the straight side, stitching 5 mm from the edge. Turn the resulting cones right-side out.

Step 4

Flatten the cones so that the seam is in the middle of one of the sides. Gather the unsewn side of one of the petals with a string. To do this, 5 mm from the cut, sew the edge of the folded cone with a basting stitch and pull off the thread. As a result, the base of the petal will gather into an accordion.

Step 5

Without securing the seam, use the same thread to collect all the other petals. Make sure that the seams on the workpieces are on one side. The finished flower will be facing this side of the cover on which you attach it.

Step 6

Close the flower by connecting the last petal to the first. Thread a needle through one or two petals to secure the work, tie a knot and cut the thread. The base for the flower is ready.

Step 7

The center of the flower can be filled in by cutting a circle out of colored felt and sewing a button or bead over it.

Step 8

You can make the middle of the flower from a narrow braid with pompoms. Roll the braid so that you get a roll of the same diameter as the hole in the middle of the flower. Sew the folded tape to prevent the roll from unrolling. Insert the string into the middle of the flower and secure with threads.
