Inscriptions and drawings on colored paper look much more impressive than on white. But, unfortunately, in stores it is not always possible to find sheets of the desired color on sale. You can get paper of the desired tone by self-coloring the sheets at home. Several toning rules allow you to get an even color and avoid streaks.

Instructions
Step 1
For toning paper, first prepare a dye solution. To do this, dilute colored ink, watercolor, gouache, aniline or tempera paint of the desired color in warm water. Stir the coloring composition until smooth.
Step 2
Dissolve black tea, hibiscus petals or coffee in hot water to give the paper its original shade of brown or reddish. Select the required amount of dye depending on the desired color saturation.
Step 3
Place a flat piece of wood on top of the newspaper, placing books or a box underneath so that one side is raised above the spread of newspapers. Fill a flat tray with the prepared solution. Dip paper into it and immediately, as soon as the sheet is completely in the dye solution, pull it out with two tweezers.
Step 4
Place the paper soaked in paint on an inclined surface and use the buttons to pin the edges of the sheet to the board. Let the excess liquid drain and wait until the workpiece is completely dry.
Step 5
Unfasten the sheet from the wood surface by gently pulling out the buttons. If the workpiece bends after drying, then place it under a press or iron it with an iron through writing paper.
Step 6
You can also use another method to give the paper the desired color. To do this, attach the sheet to a tilted wooden surface and prepare a staining solution.
Step 7
Then apply the prepared paint to the sheet with a cotton swab or a wide brush. Wait for the workpiece to dry.
Step 8
To dry-paint the paper, first crush a pastel or pencil lead in a mortar. Then place a newspaper under the sheet and, after sprinkling a small amount of the resulting powder, gently rub it over the paper with a cotton swab. Thus, tint the entire surface of the sheet.
