Making New Year's toys out of felt is a simple and fun activity. Here is one of the easiest ways to sew a Christmas toy.
To create such a New Year's toy, a flat ball on a Christmas tree, a small amount of felt of two or three colors (to taste), beads, colored threads (in the color of the material or contrasting ones, to taste), other finishing materials as desired, a narrow ribbon.
1. Scale the pattern of the New Year's toy in such a way as to get the toy of the required size. For example, you can enlarge this pattern by one and a half to two times.
2. Cut the pieces out of the colored felt. Use two or three felt colors. Please note that the toy should turn out to be double-sided, which means that the main parts (the ball and its holder) must be cut out in duplicate.
3. First, sew decorative elements on each side of the ball (it is enough to fix the flowers with a bead in the center and make short stitches so that the petals are kept strictly in place), after which you can sew the ball, sew the holder onto it. If you want to add volume to the toy, put it in a ball of a little filler for soft toys (cotton wool is also suitable).
it is absolutely not necessary to decorate the ball exactly as shown in the photo. Turn on your fantasy! Perhaps you have a piece of Vologda lace or beautiful beads or patterned braid lying around at home. Sew them on a ball - along the edge or in parallel rows. Also, an interesting way to decorate a New Year's toy will be embroidery - satin stitch or cross-stitch patterns will look great.
4. At the top of the balloon, cut a small hole with nail scissors and thread a narrow satin ribbon through it. The New Year felt toy is ready!
