Choosing the right accordion for yourself is not the easiest thing, especially for a beginner who is just starting to master this wonderful Russian instrument. As the old accordion players often say, the choice of the accordion is the same as the choice of the friend of life. To find a suitable tool not only in terms of quality, but also to your liking, you need to be very careful about the selection and purchase process.

Instructions

Step 1

If you decide to purchase this musical instrument for yourself, first of all, decide whether you prefer a manufactured product offered in music stores, or are more inclined to a unique instrument made by a master to order. The second option is more likely to suit people who already know how to play the accordion and have a good idea of what exactly they need.

Step 2

When choosing a store accordion, start with a thorough visual inspection. First of all, pay attention to the absence of chips, scratches and cracks on the external polished surfaces. Their presence may indicate improper transportation and, accordingly, possible internal damage.

Step 3

Be sure to check the housing for leaks. To do this, stretch and squeeze the accordion several times, listening to the sounds generated by the movement of the air. Then check the quality of borin gluing (accordion folds) and the reliability of fastening their corners. If the corners are loosely fixed, in the future this will lead to loss of tightness and rapid wear of borin.

Step 4

Pay special attention to the condition and strength of the accordion belts. With heavy use, weak or poor-quality belts can begin to break, creating safety problems for both the instrument and the musician.

Step 5

Having finished with an external examination, proceed to check the push-button mechanism. To do this, sequentially press all the buttons (keys) of the right and left hands. Keep in mind that if the springs of the push-button mechanism are too tight, this can make playing very difficult and lead to quick finger fatigue. If the springs are, on the contrary, weakened, then with a sharp compression of the bellows, the sounds of the slats will be heard due to the spontaneous opening of the valves. In an ideal state, all buttons should be free to press and return to their original state without any sticking.

Step 6

If you have an advanced ear for music and musical experience, check the sound bars yourself. If you don't have such experience, ask someone from experienced accordion players to help you choose an instrument. Check the serviceability of the straps and adjust the accordion by ear, stretching and squeezing the bellows. Please note that in the optimal state, the strips should respond to the slightest movement of bellows, and when you press the button, the sound should appear instantly and in full volume of its sound.
