Your favorite books will last you longer if you use special convenient bookmarks in them that do not traumatize the pages and binding. Often, books are laid with pens and pencils, they are put with the spine up, and this leads to the fact that the book deteriorates ahead of time and becomes unusable. You can buy bookmarks at a stationery store, but it's much more fun to make them by hand using colored paper and glue. Such bookmarks in the form of a corner worn on a page will immediately be visible in a closed book, due to their bright color, and at the same time they will not harm the pages.
Instructions
Step 1
Take bright and thick colored A4 paper, PVA glue and scissors. From a sheet of colored paper, cut a strip along the long side of the sheet, about five centimeters wide. Fold the strip in half to outline the center line.
Step 2
Fold the right side of the paper strip downward, and then fold the left side in the same way. You should have a corner with a square base and a center line to connect the strips. Round the lower right corner with scissors, giving it an oval shape, and glue the front edges with glue or tape.
Step 3
The bookmark is almost ready. All that remains is to decorate it - come up with inscriptions, drawings and appliqués for bookmarks that you will use in different books. You can also write the name of the reader on the bookmark so that any person who takes to read the book understands who is reading it at the moment.

You can also use any thematic picture as an applique - a bookmark decorated with an applique of fruits and vegetables will look organic in a cookbook, and a bookmark with planets and stars in a book about astronomy.
