The image of the Snow Maiden, a character in Slavic myths and fairy tales, evokes a lot of gossip and hypotheses. According to playwright Ostrovsky and composer Rimsky-Korsakov, her parents were Vesna and Frost. The modern New Year tradition considers Moroz to be her grandfather. Nevertheless, the poetic symbol of winter becomes a must-have for festive New Year decorations.

Instructions
Step 1
For work, prepare several square sheets of single-sided colored paper, each square will have its own size. The first element that you will make out of paper will be a blue fur coat. The side of the square is 15 cm.
Step 2
Place the square with the colored side facing you. Fold in four to make four small squares. Then fold back.
Step 3
Fold the right and left sides towards you 5 mm. Then, in the same way, bend the bottom 2 cm.
Step 4
Fold the top corners towards you. They should converge at the intersection of the fold lines marked at the very beginning. Flip the shape over.
Step 5
Mark two dots on the bottom side 2 cm from the edge. Connect to the top of the structure. Fold over the lines towards you. Pull out the corners from the back.
Step 6
Fold the upper corner in your direction, and the lower corners in the opposite direction. Flip the shape over again. The fur coat is ready. Set it aside.
Step 7
Take two squares of the same blue paper with a side of 6-8 cm. Fold them once or twice in half so that the colored side is always outside. When there are strips 2-3 cm wide, fold them in half again, then unfold. Fold each half towards the center of this line. Glue the sleeves to the sides of the coat, under the collar.
Step 8
Make the mittens from squares with a side of about 1.5-2 cm. Bend them diagonally and straighten them. Place the fold line vertically. Bend the corners on the sides of this line with the vertices towards it so that they touch the center of the square.
Step 9
Peel back one side of each mitten, from the bottom right corner on one shape and from the bottom left corner on the other. Turn the blanks over. Glue them to the sleeves.
Step 10
For a hat, take a square and fold its sides inward, to the colorless side. Fold the resulting shape in half in width (smaller side).
Step 11
Fold the top corners towards the midline. Fold in the bottom like a margin.
Step 12
Make the head as an applique from an oval circle of paper and additional elements. Glue all the details together.
