If the curtain is too short, do not be discouraged - you can lengthen the curtains so that they completely transform and bring new accents to the interior of the room.

Step 1
Sew woven loops to the curtain, which you will then put on to the round curtain rod. So you can increase the length of the curtain by 10 centimeters. Sew the loops in one piece, with buttons or in the form of unpretentious bow ties. The latter option will fit perfectly into the corner of a young girl or into a nursery. If you have a small section of the main curtain fabric left, cut the loops out of it. Match the buttons in the same style or cover them with the same fabric. If necessary, buy a material that matches the style and make both loops and edging from it. For example, use a binding with a geometric pattern that is relevant in a modern interior.
Step 2
Attach the curtain to the eaves and calculate the desired loop length. To do this, throw the fabric ribbon over the cornice and attach it to the curtain. Add 1.5 cm for seam allowances. If you are making fasteners, you still need to leave an additional 4-5 cm; for the strings, form a test knot and make a pattern to your liking. Ready-made curtain hinges are usually about 3-4 cm wide (excluding hem allowances). It is believed that it is necessary to properly lengthen the curtains with the help of loops so that the top of the window opening is not visible.
Step 3
Increase the size of the loops if you want to make the curtain longer. To hide the window from view, try hanging a lambrequin on top. It is quite possible to master such an elegant drapery with your own hands. Buy a lightweight, lightweight lambrequin fabric and lining. Measure the length of the curtain and the height of the window. Make a life-size drapery pattern. Attach it to the eaves by measuring the center of the window. Make a lambrequin and lining pattern. Leave the seam allowance 1.5 cm. Sew a lambrequin with a lining, putting the details inside out. Leave the uncovered part. Iron the seams and turn the finished drapery out.
Step 4
Sew a piece of the desired length along the bottom of the curtain. When lengthening the curtain in this way, your job is to do the job neatly and tastefully so that the piece does not look patchy. Choose the combination material carefully according to the texture and color. To complement the window design, use the same fabric for the edging. If the overall style of the room allows, the bottom of the curtain can be made in the form of flirty frills. Get creative - for example, decorate the curtain with an applique in the same style as the wallpaper and add a wide piping at the bottom of the curtain in the same color.
