Instructions

Step 1

A curtain tape is a strip of synthetic fabric. Such a tape is made of various types of fabric. It is transparent and dense. For sheer fabrics, use sheer curtain tape.

Step 2

Each curtain tape has a build factor, which indicates the fabric consumption per meter of the finished product.

Step 3

Buy quality curtain tape that does not shrink or deform the fabric. It is made from 100% polyester.

Step 4

For work, prepare a curtain fabric, a curtain tape 2.5 cm wide and a suitable color of thread.

Step 5

Prepare the side cuts of the future curtain for processing so that after hemming they turn out to be even.

Step 6

To do this, step back a little from the edge and draw two weft threads along the length of the curtain with a needle. You will get a kind of flat path. Cut the uneven edge along it with scissors.

Step 7

Fold in the raw top edge of the shade 2.5 cm and iron. Baste for reliability.

Step 8

To the resulting fold on the seamy side of the curtain, baste the curtain tape, retreating from the upper edge of 0.5-1 cm.

Step 9

Baste the tape along the side edges, bending it with the fabric. Fold the curtain tape once, and the curtain cloth twice. Together with the tape, make the hem in one step.

Step 10

Sew the curtain tape on the sides of the curtain.

Step 11

Next, fold the side cuts along with the tape, baste and stitch.

Step 12

When stitching, do not accidentally sew the tie strings. Leave loose ends on the sides.

Step 13

Pull the strings to the length you want and secure them at the sides. Your curtain tape is sewn on!

Step 14

In order to sew on a wider curtain tape, you need to insert another line in the middle of the tape. The stitching should be parallel to the top edge. Then she will not bristle.

Step 15

Thanks to the curtain tape, you do not have to sew on additional loops.
