Light, high, beautiful, like the movement of the wind - the melody of the flute. Playing the flute reminds us of medieval traveling musicians who entertained the crowd with cheerful melodies. Perhaps you also once wanted to play this wonderful instrument. It is unlikely that you will be able to learn to play the orchestral flute on your own - her device is too complicated, it takes seven years in a music school, but mastering the block flute at home is almost no effort, even if you have no special abilities for music.
Instructions
Step 1
Choose the recorder you need. Flutes are very different. For example, they are made from different materials. Basically, it is plastic and wood. They say that wooden flutes have a softer sound, but plastic flutes are more durable, so choose at your discretion. Also, flutes differ in pitch. The most common flutes are sopranos (the lowest sound on such flutes is "C" of the first octave). There are also tenors, sopranino, altos.
Step 2
Understand the structure of your flute. As a rule, the flute consists of three parts, which can be easily separated from each other. By twisting them and pushing them out a little, you can tune the flute a little. This is especially important if you need to play along with other musical instruments - it is very important here that they are all tuned to each other.
Step 3
Learn to hold the flute correctly. The left hand should be on top, with the index, middle and ring fingers positioned over the holes. With your left thumb, you will open or close the hole on the back of the flute, if your flute has one. Place the fingers of your right hand over the rest of the holes, while the little finger should be above the very last one, which is turned slightly away from the rest so that the finger is comfortable. With this arrangement of your fingers, if you cover all the holes and blow into the flute, you will get a C note.
Step 4
Learn to make sound correctly. To do this, start with the B note of the first octave. Pinch the holes with your fingers, tighten the muscles of your mouth and, as if in a whisper, utter the sound "tu-u". Stretch this note as much as you can. Then play the notes in the downward direction in the same way, each time playing the note softer. This exercise will train the muscles of the mouth, and cheeks, and breathing.
Step 5
Now find the flute fingering and learn the basic notes. Look for the notes of the simplest songs and melodies and try to play them using the fingering. Try to learn a couple of simple songs. Or maybe you will be able to choose some favorite melodies on your own.
Step 6
Remember, practice is key. Play as often as possible, practice, and very soon you will master the technique of playing this simple, but very good instrument. Good luck to you!
