In the past, dice were made from dice. That is why they are sometimes called bones today. These days, these essential accessories for many board games are made from a wide variety of materials. And if desired, the dice can even be made virtual.

Instructions

Step 1

Choose the material for making the cube based on the tools and skills you have.

Step 2

Make an exact cube with a side of about ten millimeters from the material of your choice.

Step 3

Bevel about 1 mm at 45 degrees from the sides and then from the corners of the cube. Polish the product if necessary.

Step 4

Draw numbers on the edges of the cube. The points necessary for this can be made in the form of recesses, drilling them with a micro drill, or applied with paint, or obtained in a combined way, first making recesses, and then filling them with paint. On the upper edge, apply six points (two rows of three points);

Draw one dot on the bottom edge (in the middle);

On the left side, draw four dots (two rows of two dots);

Draw three dots on the right side (diagonally);

On the front face, draw five dots (four in the form of a 2 by 2 matrix and one in the middle);

Draw two dots on the back face (diagonally). You can check if the designations of the numbers on the sides of the cube are correctly distributed by adding the numbers on the opposite faces: for each of their combinations, the sum should be seven.

Step 5

Cover all the sides of the cube, except for one, on which it will lie when drying, with colorless varnish. Let it dry, then turn the piece over so that this edge is on top. Cover it with varnish and then let it dry as well.

Step 6

Get a virtual dice. To do this, take your mobile phone and install the BASIC interpreter into it by downloading it from the corresponding site. After launching the interpreter, enter the following program:

10 A% = MOD (RND (0), 4) +3

20 IF A% = 0 THEN GOTO 10

30 PRINT A%

40 END Each time you run it with the RUN command, this program will generate a random number in the range from 1 to 6.

Step 7

To check the cube for accuracy, use it to get several dozen random numbers, and then count how many times each of them occurs. For a precisely crafted cube, the probabilities of getting each of the numbers should be close.

Step 8

Although the popularity of board games is rather small these days, do not forget the order in which they are played. At the beginning, the chips of all players are placed on the starting square. The players roll the dice in turn. Having received a random number, the player moves his token forward by the corresponding number of cells. If the square on which the chip appears as a result contains an instruction (skip the next move, repeat the move, move to a given place on the playing field, etc.), this instruction should be followed. The player who first reached the finishing square of the field wins.
