Dice poker, also known as yeji (yatzi), knifel and tali, is great entertainment for a company of two, three or four people. This game can appeal to both inveterate fans of card poker and people who are far from such games.
It is necessary
5 dice, paper, pen, one or more opponents
Instructions
Step 1
Before starting the game, take a piece of paper and draw a game table on it. Above the columns, write the names of the players, and on the left - at the beginning of each line - indicate the names of combinations: "1", "2", "3", "4", "5", "6", "pair" (two dice of the same dignity), "two pairs" (two dice of one dignity and two more - another), "three" (three dice of the same dignity), "small straight" (consecutive combination from 1 to 5), "big straight" (consecutive combination from 2 to 6), full house (three and a pair at the same time), four of a kind (four dice of the same rank), poker (five dice of the same rank) and chance (five dice of any rank).
Step 2
The first part of the game consists of six rounds, in each of which it is required to throw as many dice of the same denomination on the dice - ones, twos, threes, etc. The order of execution of these combinations can be any, however, after the completion of six rounds in the table, all six corresponding lines must be filled, i.e. dice combinations of the same denomination cannot be counted in two rounds in a row. Each player in turn rolls the dice (all five at the same time). In each round, he has three attempts. For example, on the first try you got 2-3-6-2-1. In this case, you can leave a pair of deuces on the table and re-roll the remaining three dice on the second try. In the third attempt, you can also roll not all five dice, but only those that do not currently make up the combination you need.
Step 3
The scoring in the first part of the game is as follows. If in a round (after three attempts) 3 dice of the same denomination fell out, then zero is written in the corresponding column - this means that this combination is performed. If there are less than three dice of the required dignity, then the minus result is entered in the table. It is calculated as the number of bones missing up to three (for two bones - 1, for one - 2), multiplied by the value (denomination) of these bones. If more than three bones of the required dignity fell in the round, then a positive result is entered in the table. It is defined as the number of bones over three (for four bones - 1, for five - 2), multiplied by the denomination of these bones. For example, if you have five sixes, then the following result will be entered in the table: 2x5 = 10.
Step 4
After the completion of the first part of the game, intermediate results are summed up. If the sum of the player's points in six rounds is with a plus sign or at least equal to zero, then he is entitled to 50 points as a bonus. This result will be summed up with the results of the second part of the game.
Step 5
The second part of the game consists of nine rounds. In each of them, the player also has three attempts, but now he needs to throw out nine combinations given at the bottom of the table (a pair, four of a kind, etc.). The order of throwing combinations can be any, however, after the end of nine rounds, all rows of the table must be filled in, and you cannot write the same combination several times. If during a round after using all three attempts you did not get any of the required combinations or any of them fell out a second time, the result of this round can be written in the "chance" line. The result of this combination is determined as the sum of the merits of all the bones included in it. For example, after the combination 1-3-5-4-6 falls out, the table will display the following result: 1 + 3 + 5 + 4 + 6 = 19. The number of points for completing other combinations is determined as the sum of the numbers on the dice that make up this combination. For example, if you have a pair of triplets, the result will be determined as 3 + 3 = 6. If a combination (except for a chance) falls out on the first try, then the points due for it are doubled. For the loss of poker, the player is additionally plus 50 points. If, according to the results of the second part of the game, any combinations did not fall out, dashes are put in the corresponding rows of the table.
Step 6
When both parts of the game are completed, the grand total is summed up: the number of points of each participant for the entire game is summed up. Then the results are added up and divided by the number of players - this is how the average result is calculated. The specific win or loss of each player is determined as the difference between the sum of the points scored by him and the average result of the game.
