Very often, fishing tools are made from a net knitted from threads called "del". In modern fisheries, you can find delhi made of synthetic materials - nylon, nylon and others. The ability to knit del by hand can be useful not only when making a new net, but also when repairing an old one.
It is necessary
Shuttle, shelf, fishing line or thread (lavsan, nylon, nylon), knife, wire, nylon cord
Instructions
Step 1
For knitting delhi, we need special tools: a shelf and a shuttle. A thread is wound on the shuttle with a margin, repeatedly drawing the thread around the pins and the fork at the other end of the shuttle. The thread must not pass through the rib of the hook.
Step 2
The shelf is a plank about 10 cm long and 3 mm thick. The width of the shelf corresponds to the size of the mesh of the grid. The shelf should be planed, rounded at the edges and sanded.
Step 3
They knit del so. At the end of the thread wound on the shuttle, a loop is made equal in size to the desired mesh. At the same time, the thread is circled twice around the shelf and removed by tying. The resulting mesh is put on the nail so that the knot falls between the nail and the end of the mesh on its left side.
Step 4
Then a shelf is taken in the left hand, and the thread is circled over the shelf, substituting it to the mesh. The shuttle is threaded through the mesh and the thread is pulled so that the edge of the shelf is in close proximity to the edge of the mesh.
Step 5
The edge of the mesh, together with the threaded thread, is pressed against the edge of the shelf with the index finger of the left hand. Take the shuttle to the left and leave a loop of thread over the stretched mesh. After that, the shuttle is threaded into the left loop from the bottom, tracing the thread pressed to the shelf with a mesh. Tighten on the pressed mesh knot, while pulling the thread. The knot should be tightened between the edge of the shelf and the finger.
Step 6
In the same way, a chain of cells is connected in series to the required number. After that, loops are strung on a wire or a strong thread so that a row of cells is formed, hanging from the wire. Now the wire must be tied into a ring and hung on a nail. The next row is tied to the resulting row of cells. Then repeat the same technique for the next mesh; so continue to the last cell of the original row. After completing this procedure, all the cells are removed from the shelf and everything is repeated: the length of a piece of delhi is increased row by row.
Step 7
If you need to tie a piece of delhi with a decreasing width, then subtract the number of cells in certain rows. In this case, the shuttle must be threaded into two meshes at once, and one must be tied to them.
Step 8
The fishing net takes its shape only after rigging the Delhi. To do this, the canvas is attached to ropes or cords. In the simplest case, the cords are equipped with floats in the upper part and a weight in the form of metal rings in the lower part of the web.
