Small decorative mills are increasingly becoming a decoration for lawns and gardens. This is an ancient structure that has survived to this day. Everyone can make it with their own hands from scrap materials, because this does not require any special knowledge.

It is necessary

Plywood, bars, pencil, ruler, lining, self-tapping screws, metal corners, saw, electric planer, car wheel, metal axle

Instructions

Step 1

Frame the walls and base. One plywood is enough for the base of the mill. The top size should be 30x30cm, and the bottom size should be 50x50cm. Using four 5x5cm bars, connect the bottom and top.

Step 2

Symmetrically mark the future place of attachment of the bars, which will be used as guides. Trace the plywood with a pencil cross on a cross and mark from the corners (towards the line) about 7cm. This is necessary in order to get an ebb from the bottom during clapboarding. Do the same from above. Connect the top and bottom. Use self-tapping screws and metal corners for the rigidity of the entire structure.

Step 3

Stuff the lining on the assembled frame. Saw off the edges with a reciprocating saw.

Step 4

Make the roof frame according to the principle of a triangle with isosceles sides. Additionally, use transverse joints to add strength to the roof. Hammer the layout onto the crossbars. At this point, you will then install the axis of the windmill. Trim the roof the way you want it. Everything is in your hands here.

Step 5

Secure the turntable. To do this, you can disassemble a broken washing machine where there is a metal axle. Fix the wheels of the car on this axle and insert into the bars with holes (transverse connections). At the end, attach a plastic sleeve that will be used to rotate the blades.

Step 6

Make the blades. To do this, take 2 bars, the cross-section of which is 1.5x4 cm. Measure the distance from the base to the axis for the length you like (the blades can be of different lengths, it's up to you to decide).

Step 7

After that, grind the block on the electric plane at a slight angle. This is to give the blades a tilt. Do the slope to the middle of the bar and always in one direction, and from the middle of the bar to the end, make the slope in the opposite direction. You can use simple pieces of wood as material for the blades.
