Step 1
Find a suitable container. To maintain a presentable appearance, it is best to choose a pot that is no less beautiful and fits into the "entourage" of the bonsai. You can make it yourself or buy it at a flower shop. Make sure it is deep enough and has large drain holes. If your bonsai is going to have a small lawn, water will need to be used a lot and often, so good draining is very important.
Step 2
Pick up the ground. This should be the best land you can find in the store. Even if you plant an artificial tree instead of a real tree, good soil will come in handy when growing moss on rocks and grass. Remember that a small tree with its lower branches cut off is not a work of art in and of itself. To make the picture finally complete, do not skimp on a bag of good soil.
Step 3
Decide on a tree. It can be a special tree species, bred for bonsai, or decorative options. Ficus, when cutting the lower leaves and when limiting growth, is excellent for such purposes. Its roots are woven around stones, which allows you to grow it not in a pot, but on a rocky rock in the country or in a garden. The next option will be less of a hassle in the future, but it will require some design input.
Step 4
Find a branch that is thick and twisted enough to resemble a real tree. Dry and coat with varnish and paint of the desired color for a realistic look. Make leaves out of matte thick paper and wire and bring your wood branch to life. Use a little imagination and you will have an original and vibrant end result.
