On a rainy autumn evening, you need to do something to keep yourself busy, so as not to die of boredom - to figure out where and in what, for example, you will celebrate the New Year. On such a holiday, you want to look fabulous and unusual. A highlight in the image can easily become a miniature handbag of bright red color, which will compete with Santa Claus's bag. Open the box of handicraft supplies and treat yourself to a pleasant job.
It is necessary
- - quilted synthetic winterizer (the second name is quilted lining. Consists of an insulated part, namely synthetic winterizer and lining material);
- - lining fabric;
- - faux fur;
- - leatherette;
- - sewing machine;
- - threads, scissors, needles, ruler, crayons;
- - decorative ornaments, accessories.
Instructions
Step 1
Purchase a quilted padding polyester at a fabric store. This synthetic winterizer is already sewn with either a lining fabric or a fabric with a printed pattern. The first serves as a warm lining in outerwear, the second - as the main fabric for sewing jackets or raincoats. The main thing for you is to find a "red representative" among the presented goods. Take the black lining fabric, from the accessories - end fittings or fasteners for ties.
Step 2
Cut out rectangles from padding polyester and lining fabric with the following dimensions. A red rectangle 20 cm wide by 60 cm long. Do not forget about 1 cm seam allowances. The lining rectangle should be one centimeter smaller on each side.
Step 3
Fold the red padding polyester fabric in half with the right side inward. You will get a piece with a fold, with dimensions of 20 cm - length, 30 cm - height. Mark 2 points with chalk to indicate the fold line on both sides. Sew both sides, starting at the top and not reaching the fold line by 10 cm. The holes left will add volume to the bag.
Step 4
Now stretch the fabric with the hole so that the chalk point and the end of the stitching on the side seam meet. Sew this section. Thus, you get the width of the bag due to the stitching line perpendicular to the side seam (the finished seam should be 10 cm). Turn the product right out.
Step 5
Sew the lining fabric in the same way as described above. Put the finished lining in a bag made of padding polyester, sweep both parts along the upper edge. Do not tighten the basting too much.
Step 6
Make two leatherette handles for a bag up to 40 cm long each. Now attach the handles between the front and backing fabrics. Sew on a typewriter. Such a bag does not have a zipper, but so that the contents do not spill out, you can make ties with pom-poms, which will play the role of a fastener. The length of the laces depends on your desire. Stitch them on the top, center of the front and back of the bag, hiding the raw edges behind the lining. Insert the end pieces and fasten the fur trim at the edges of the laces using strong threads and a needle.
Step 7
The final step. It is necessary to process the joint of the padding polyester and the lining fabric where the basting was made. The most convenient way to do this is as follows: cut a strip 41 cm long and 15 cm wide out of fluffy fur. This detail will serve as a facing. Stitch it to the top edge of the bag, folding it in half and remembering to fold it half a centimeter. After that, the seams should be combed with a comb to straighten the pressed fur. So, your New Year's "highlight", or to be precise - your handbag, is ready!
