If you want to show your kid what a volcano is, as well as how it erupts, it is not at all necessary to go to distant countries and look for active volcanoes there. You can create a very plausible model at home yourself, it is not difficult to do it.
Instructions
Step 1
To make a volcano, take plasticine (clay or dough is also suitable), a glass jar previously buried in the sand. Now put the jar on some kind of stand and mold your volcano with a crater around it (it will be the bottom of the jar).
Step 2
Now take a tablespoon of baking soda, a tablespoon of dish soap, 2-3 drops of red food coloring (you can use beet juice).
Step 3
Next, pour about 50 ml of table vinegar into an imaginary volcano. You will observe an eruption, while bubbling foam will pour out of the vent.
Step 4
This is due to a chemical reaction in which carbon dioxide is released, it bubbles, the mass goes beyond the edges of the crater. By the way, it is the dishwashing liquid that makes the imaginary lava boil as much as possible. The process is absolutely safe and does not pose any harm. Do not worry, the child in no way will suffer from burns, poisoning and other troubles.
Step 5
Please note that it is better to set the experiment in a room with good ventilation due to the not very pleasant smell of vinegar. Also, be sure to warn the kid that such experiments are done only with adults.
