It is necessary

  • - spinning wheel;
  • - spindle;
  • - wool;
  • - two combs for wool.

Instructions

Step 1

The tow or wool must first be prepared for spinning - sort it out, remove debris and comb it. It is more convenient to comb wool with special combs for combing wool - put a small piece of wool on one, and comb the other. Do this until all the hair is on the same comb. If the coat is ready, then the individual hairs will easily be pulled out of the common tow.

Step 2

Then tie the finished wool to the spinning wheel. If it is not there, then to any stick that you just need to fasten with a rope on the back of the chair. This will be enough to learn how to spin. Sit on a chair so that the tow is under your left hand.

Step 3

To fasten the thread to the spindle, pull a small strip of wool out of the tow with three fingers of your left hand, without tearing it off from the total mass. Twist the strip into a thread and tie a spindle to the toe.

Step 4

Start spinning. Pull the fibers out of the tow with three fingers of your left hand, while rotating the spindle clockwise with three fingers of your right hand. At first, the thread will not be straight, however, now the most important thing is not to allow it to be interrupted.

Step 5

After the thread reaches 50 cm in length, untie it from the spindle and wind it tighter in the middle part of it. Make a knot and loop the thread around the toe of the spindle. Then continue spinning. Pull the thread, trying to keep it straight, and wind it around the spindle.

Step 6

When the thread becomes long, wind it around the fingers of your left hand, and transfer it from your fingers to the spindle as described above.

Step 7

Then continue spinning until the entire middle part of the spindle is full. This means that the thread can be torn off and another spindle can be taken, or the thread can be wound from it into a ball.
