Batman is a Batman fictional superhero character from DC Comics, created by artist Bob Kane in collaboration with writer Bill Finger. The Batman is one of the most recognizable and popular comic book characters around the world.
There are quite a few films about the brave defender of Gotham, some of them have been consigned to oblivion, while others have become real classics of movies based on comics.
Batman 1940-1960s
Batman (TV series 1943)
Batman first appeared on screens in 1943, in the midst of World War II, in a low-budget TV series of the same name. The first actor to play the bat-man was Lewis Wilson. In this TV movie, Batman defends Gotham from the Japanese scientist Dr. Duck, who is hatching a sinister plan to destroy the city with some deadly rays. Due to its low budget, the series looks like a rather primitive propaganda craft.
Batman and Robin (TV series 1949)
After 6 years, a sequel to the 1943 series was released, but with a different cast. Robin turned from a teenager into a young man, the bat-signal was demonstrated for the first time, the image of billionaire Bruce Wayne became more open. Otherwise, it was the same low-budget black-and-white series, with the unnatural acting, costumes from the children's matinee, the same timing and number of episodes. According to the plot of the TV movie, Batman is fighting an abnormal villain named Magician, in whose hands there is a device capable of controlling everything in the world at a distance of 80 km.
Batman (TV series 1966 - 1968)
A television series with an uncomplicated plot, which tells about the double life of a wealthy businessman Bruce Wayne and his student Dick Grayson - Batman and Robin. The main characters secretly fight crime and various villains for 120 episodes. Each episode of this TV show is filled with absurd humor, built on the contrast of the complete absurdity of what is happening on the screen with the absolute seriousness of the dialogues and voice-overs. The series was quite popular in the United States and is considered a classic TV movie about Batman.
Batman (1966)
The first full-length film about the bat-man, filmed in the wake of the success of the series of the same name, which became the beginning of the formation of a superhero on movie screens. In this film, Batman and Robin confront four of the world's greatest villains at once, planning to destroy the brave heroes and conquer the whole world. To the modern viewer, the film will rather seem like a comedy filled with a riot of colors, straightforward actions of the characters, strange plot twists and an ending that breaks all templates.

Batman (1989)
High-budget film adaptation directed by Tim Burton, starring Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson. The plot of the film tells about the reasons that made the rich man Bruce Wayne become Batman and about his fight against crime in Gotham, led by a villain named Joker. The film was a great success, became the highest grossing film in 1989 and won an Oscar for Best Set.
Batman Returns (1992)
1989 Batman sequel, directed by the same Tim Burton with Michael Keaton (Batman), Danny DeVito (Penguin), Michelle Pfeiffer (Catwoman), Christopher Walken (Max Schreck) in the lead roles. In this film, Gotham is threatened by the villainous freak Penguin, with whom the indefatigable Batman enters the fight.
Batman Forever (1995)
Continuation of the tetralogy about Batman, directed by Joel Schumacher, Batman was played by Val Kilmer. Robin, played by Chris O'Donnell, first appears in this part, the villains starring Jim Carrey (The Riddler), Tommy Lee Jones (Two-Face), Drew Barrymore (Snowflake), Debi Mazar (Perchinka). Nicole Kidman played the role of a psychiatrist collaborating with Bruce Wayne. The last part of the cult trilogy about Batman, which tells about the return of the superhero to save the long-suffering Gotham from another villainous misfortune.
