A T-shirt is one of the most comfortable and open pieces of a wardrobe. It can be knitted in different styles: classic, combined with trousers or a skirt, or sports, suitable for jeans and shorts.
It is necessary
- yarn;
- knitting needles;
- hook.
Instructions
Step 1
Special attention should be paid to the yarn. The T-shirt is usually worn during the warmer months, therefore, the yarn should be light and thin. The best yarn is cotton, bamboo, silk or rayon. The thread should be taken thin (no thicker than 120 m / 50 g), because in the summer you will be unpleasant to wear thick "chain mail".
Step 2
Before you start knitting, decide on the style of your T-shirt. If it is a classic thing, then you can make a beautiful collar, like a shirt. A sports T-shirt can be loose-fitting, with any type of neckline: round, square, oval or V-shaped.
Step 3
To start knitting, you need to knit a 10x10 cm sample, based on which, you can determine the number of loops required for the initial set. Be sure to draw a pattern for the future product in order to accurately determine the size of the knitted parts using it.
Step 4
Cast on stitches or crochet stitches and knit with the selected pattern. T-shirts look very nice when the first few rows are tied with an elastic band. In addition to beauty, the elastic is also practical: the edge of the product will not curl or sag. There are many types of rubber bands: plain, English, French, Polish, fluffy, oblique, etc.
Step 5
Once you get to the waist area, subtract a few loops on both sides for the fit. If your T-shirt is loose-fitting, then such reductions do not need to be made, and after the elastic, you can add several loops around the entire canvas for splendor.
Step 6
For the armholes of the sleeves, it is necessary to close 5 loops on both sides, and in the next row there are 3 more loops. The T-shirt can be knitted in one piece with sleeves, then you need to add 12-20 loops on the sides, depending on the length of the sleeve.
Step 7
The most difficult and crucial part of knitting is the neckline. For a classic collar neckline, close 1 middle loop, and then close 1 loop on the inside until the shoulder width reaches 12 cm. Then tie a collar with a separate piece, approximately 6-8 cm high. The length of the collar should correspond to the length of the neckline. Do the same for the V-neck, but you don't need to knit the collar. The round neck is quite simple to knit: bind off the middle 10 sts, and then bind off 8 rows of 1 st on both sides. For a square neckline, bind off the middle 20 sts, and knit each side separately.
Step 8
The neckline and sleeves need to be beautifully finished. On the sleeves, you can knit the same elastic as at the bottom of the canvas. If there is no elastic, then just tie the edges with a "crustacean step". The neck can be finished in the same way.
