Many knitted products are not complete without elastic bands. Classic canvases are made by alternating a certain number of front and back loops. In the creation of a pattern of inelastic embossed elastic, yarns take part. The last row of work can end in different ways, and the appearance of the product will depend on this.
It is necessary
- - two straight or circular needles;
- - auxiliary spoke;
- - working yarn;
- - auxiliary thread;
- - needle;
- - iron.
Instructions
Step 1
Tie the elastic to the desired height in straight, backward, or circular rows. When the bar is completed, finish the job. To do this, it is necessary to perform the final row of elastic or embossed fabrics according to the pattern (over the front ones - front ones, over the purl ones - purl ones), and at the same time close the elastic loops.
Step 2
Knit the hem and the next knit together with one knit. Transfer the loop formed on the right, working, knitting needle again to the left knitting needle; re-knit subsequent adjacent yarns together. If, after the removed front loop, a purl follows, do not the front, but the purl.
Step 3
Continue to close the last row of elastic according to the described pattern, until a neat pigtail of loop links is formed at the edge of the canvas. They should all be exactly the same.
Step 4
Try not to tighten the closing hinges too tight so as not to tighten the fabric. This not only deforms the elastic, but also deprives it of elasticity. For convenience, it is recommended to finish knitting with a knitting needle one number larger than the main working tool. And so that the edge of the elastic is not inaccurately stretched, close the front loops behind the bottom walls and always follow the pattern.
Step 5
Try to sew a sewing strip with an elastic band. You need to knit an elastic or embossed strip of the required height, and when working on the final rows of elastic (there can be from two to four), introduce an auxiliary thread. At the end of the strip, without removing the fixing thread, carefully iron the last row of open buttonholes.
Step 6
Remove the thread and sew the elastic to the main garment with a stitching stitch (the stitches are carried out in a "snake" through the open loops of the last row). Finishing the elastic like this will create a nice wavy edge.
Step 7
If a stretch fabric is the starting point for knitting a large piece (such as a back, front, leg, or wide sleeve), you may need to finish the last row with evenly added buttonholes. This expands the subsequent knitting. In this case, the increments are made from broaches, that is, transverse threads between adjacent loops.
