In computer programs, presentations, projects, as well as on Internet sites, memorable and bright icons are often used that emphasize the theme of a particular section of the site or presentation. If you are creating a section with an archive of publications on your site or want to acquaint your visitors and readers with the chronology of your works, the icon in the form of an open sheet of a tear-off calendar will help you. You can make such an icon using Adobe Photoshop.

Instructions

Step 1

Create a new document and draw a long narrow rectangle with black fill using the Rectangle Tool. After that, select the option on the toolbar that allows you to draw a rectangle with rounded edges and adjust it so that the corner radius is 10 pixels. On top of the first rectangle, draw a second one of the same length, then merge the layers (Merge Visible).

Step 2

The resulting shape will have two sharp edges at the bottom and two rounded edges at the top. Apply some Layer Style to the created shape layer (Layer Style) - Inner Shadow, with Multiply blending mode and 75% opacity, as well as Gradient Overlay with a suitable color transition for you: for example, from dark blue to blue.

Step 3

Click on the layer while holding down the Ctrl key to select the image, and then open the Select menu section and choose the Modify> Contract option. In the window that opens, set the selection value to 2 pixels. Click OK and then create a new layer and choose the Stroke option from the Edit menu.

Step 4

Adjust the stroke - give it a suitable color, specify a placement in the center, and set the stroke weight to 1 pixel. Zoom in and draw a narrow vertical black rectangle across the shape, then double click on the new shape layer and set it to Bevel and Emboss style with Pillow Emboss and Smooth settings.

Step 5

After that go to the Color Overlay Styles tab and set the color to white with a normal blending mode. You will get a volumetric light part - duplicate the layer with this part several times, and then place the resulting parts along the entire length of the workpiece.

Step 6

Draw a black rectangle under the preset and then apply several Layer Styles to it - Drop Shadow (Multiply, Opacity 43%), Gradient Overlay (Linear), Stroke (1 px, Outside, Normal). You will get a voluminous light sheet.

Step 7

Duplicate the layer several times and place several others under the first sheet to simulate a stack of paper. Use a text tool to write any text or date on the top sheet.
