Fixing items in Minecraft is part of the gameplay. Damaged weapons, armor and tools can be repaired in Minecraft. A bow in the game can be repaired in two ways.

Step 1
All weapons, tools and armor in the game are of two types - enchanted and unenchanted. To repair the former, you need an anvil, on which you can not only repair items, but also combine different sets of enchantments. Common armor, weapons and tools can be repaired in the crafting (item creation) window.
Step 2
Using a workbench or inventory window, you can combine two damaged items if they are made of the same material, that is, you can combine two damaged iron swords to get one less damaged one. Since a bow can only be made of wood, this rule does not apply to it. The condition of the received item always depends on how badly the original ones used for repair were damaged. Therefore, if you do not have problems with resources, in particular, with threads, it is much easier to make a new bow. Fixing common tools in Minecraft doesn't make much sense. With the enchanted, it's a completely different story.
Step 3
Unfortunately, enchanted items cannot be repaired in the crafting window, as this destroys useful properties. To preserve the enchantment, you need to use an anvil. To make an anvil, you need to fill the upper horizontal on the workbench with iron blocks, the lower one with iron ingots and put another iron ingot in the central cell. An anvil allows you to repair objects using the materials from which they are made, respectively, on it the bow can be repaired with a stick or thread.
Step 4
You will need experience to repair items or combine their enchantments. Experience can be gained by mining minerals (coal, lapis lazuli, red stone, diamonds) or by killing monsters and animals. Any procedure on an anvil will require certain costs in levels. For example, simply repairing an enchanted bow with a thread or sticks will take a character up to five levels. If you want to combine two enchanted bows with different enchantments, this can take up to forty levels.
Step 5
On the anvil, you can not only fix the bow, but also give it a special name. The length of such a name cannot exceed 30 characters. This procedure also takes a certain amount of experience, for ordinary items it is less, for enchanted - more.
