A regular pencil sharpener is a must-have item on your desktop, and, as a rule, this item does not differ in its original design. But even the simplest sharpener can become a bright and unusual handmade souvenir that can be presented as a gift to friends or colleagues, if you put a little creative effort into its design.
It is necessary
- - 10 bamboo barbecue sticks 30 cm long;
- - ruler;
- - PVA glue;
- - cutting board for work;
- - stationery cutter;
- - tweezers;
- - pencil;
- - a simple metal sharpener.
Instructions
Step 1
First, take a bamboo stick and cut it into 30mm pieces. For the base of the sharpener, you need six pieces. Fold four segments into a square, and combine two additional segments with opposite sides of the square - so that two sides of the square are double, and two are single.
Step 2
Glue the sticks together. Fill the base of the future house with short pieces of sticks, and leave a free space one stick wide in the center. This is necessary so that the shavings from sharpened pencils do not remain inside, but pour out.
Step 3
Place the sharpener on the prepared base so that the slot in the bottom of the sharpener matches the slot in the base. Glue the sharpener, and then start shaping the walls from the same pieces from the bamboo sticks. Start at the front wall - in the first stick that forms it, make a small rounded indentation that matches the bottom edge of the hole in the metal sharpener.
Step 4
Lay the sticks in rows along the perimeter of the base of the house, by analogy with a log masonry. Do not forget to cut a round hole for the sharpener in the sticks on the front wall of the house. From the inside of the house, fix the sharpener by gluing vertical short sticks on both sides of it. After filling the walls with four rows of sticks, start shaping the roof.
Step 5
To do this, cut a stick with a length of 33 mm and place it on the pencil that you want to put on top of the sharpener - it forms the corner of the roof. After that, glue two 25 mm long transverse sticks at an angle to the longitudinal stick - they form the roof slopes.
Step 6
Glue two cross sticks on the other end as well. On top of the longitudinal stick, lay another one, 40 mm long, and then start filling the roof with longitudinal sticks, and remove the pencil from under it. Close the side walls of the house under the roof, cutting off the edges of the sticks at an angle. Fill the roof with longitudinal sticks so that it protrudes beyond the walls of the house.
Step 7
Now form the second tier of the roof - glue two sticks 25 mm long on the roof, and then two transverse sticks perpendicular to them. Lay a small gable roof on these transverse sticks - the length of its sticks should be 15 mm. Sand the edges and cuts of the house with a fine sandpaper, polish it and varnish it.
