Harriet Andersson, Swedish theater and film actress. She graduated from a private acting school. Since 1953 - on the stage of the Malmo City Theater. She made her film debut in 1950 in the film by Lars Erik Chellgren "While the city sleeps". Meeting with Bergman-director brought Anderson wide fame in his first role - in the film "Summer with Monika" (Sommaren Med Monika, 1952), unadorned about the emergence of love feelings between a young man and a girl from the social bottom.
Biography
She made her film debut in 1949. Met Ingmar Bergman at the Malmö city theater in the early 1950s. In 1953 she played the title role in his film Leto with Monica. Later she starred in nine more of his films. In total, she participated in more than 90 films.

Personal life of Harriet Andersson
The first husband of the actress was her childhood friend Bertil Weyfried. The wedding took place without much scope, only the closest friends and relatives were present at it. Bertil doted on the then very young and little-known actress. Soon the couple had a daughter, who was named Petra. It would seem that family life was a real idyll, however, their happy marriage was destined to last only five years. Ambitious and capricious Harriet could not feel fully realized with the usual school teacher B. Weyfried. The second marriage of the actress was much more resonant and was widely covered in the media. The famous Finnish politician, film director and producer Jorn Donner became the chosen one of the Swedish actress. The latter contributed to the development of Harriet's beginning career. However, this marriage lasted only a few years, after which the couple officially divorced.
Career
The contradictory duality of female nature is in the focus of the actress and the director and in their next joint work "An Evening of Fools" (1953), marked by piercing pain for the humiliated and insulted. A completely different, life-affirming pathos is imbued with the image of a girl from the people, the servant of Petra in the lyrical comedy of the same director "Smiles of a Summer Night" (Sommarnattens Leende, 1955).
Long collaboration with Bergman Anderson (she played in 10 of his films) owes the highest achievements of her creative path - the dramatic image of a young woman Karin, painfully experiencing a deep separation from her husband and father and gradually losing her mind in the film "As in a Mirror" (Sasom I En Spegel, 1960). Convincing later evidence of the fruitfulness of this union - the episodic role of the servant Justina in the family saga "Fanny and Alexander" (Fanny Och Alexander, 1982), as well as the main role in the television movie I. Bergman "The Two Blessed" (De Tva Saliga, 1985).
The actress has successfully starred in other Swedish directors: J. Doiner in the film "Sunday in September" (A Sunday In September, 1963); "To love" (Att Alska, 1964), W. Sheman in the film "Linus" (Linus, 1979). The role she played in S. Bjorkman's film "The White Wall" was awarded a prize at the Moscow IFF 1975.
