Such a mesh shopping bag can be sewn from scratch, but this finishing method is also a great way to hide a defect in your favorite comfortable mesh.
If you want to hide some kind of defect (a small hole or an inappropriate inscription on the fabric of a shopping bag), then take this finishing method into service. By the way, this is also a way to use the leftover fabric after sewing a large item.
In order to decorate a shopping bag, you will need any thin fabric (chintz, satin, but you can also be more elegant), threads in color.
Operating procedure
Cut the fabric into strips (each is about 2-3 cm wide, but smaller or slightly larger). Sew them in rows, selecting the straight stitch mode on the sewing machine, making shallow folds (each about 1 cm deep). To make this work neat, first lay out a strip of fabric on the bag, fold in the folds and sweep the shuttlecock to the bag. Sew several rows of shuttlecocks to the bag.
To make a round colorful bag brooch, take a piece of felt or other dense fabric and a strip of thin fabric from which the flounces on the bag are made. Roll up a strip of fabric with a tourniquet and stick it onto the felt, laying in a spiral. If there is no glue, you can attach the tourniquet with blind stitches. After the strip of fabric is over, tuck the tip inward, glue it on, and cut off the excess felt. Sew on the back of the pin.
Useful tip: this finishing of a shopping bag with deliberately casual flounces is suitable if you prefer a sporty or boho style in your clothes. If you want to make your shopping bag more neat, feminine, choose ready-made ribbons of different widths from satin or synthetics to create flounces.
