Trying yourself in the role of an operator, it is worth remembering some subtleties.

Step 1
Calm, only calm. Camera jerks and shake will ruin even the best shots. The ideal way out of the situation will be a tripod, but not everyone can afford the additional expenses, and not in every situation, shooting on a tripod will be an appropriate and justified way. Therefore, it is worth practicing handheld shooting. A few simple rules will help you avoid frame jitter. Firstly, shoot as little as possible on the move (for the first time, it is better to completely abandon shooting while driving), and secondly, learn to hold the camera correctly. For example, the right hand is holding the camera, the left is supporting the right. In this case, the elbows should be tightly pressed against the body or abut against the stomach. It will help stabilize the image in the frame by supporting it on the railing, the back of the chair, and the table. Never hold the camera with your arm outstretched.
Step 2
Change angles. In any film, TV series or program shot and edited by professionals, frames change approximately every 5-7 seconds. It is rare to see a so-called super-long or 12-second frame. Meanwhile, amateur cameramen like to shoot the same subject for a long time, often from the same shot. This video makes a painful impression, it is not interesting to watch. Therefore, it is worth changing the angle, the shooting point as often as possible, and taking close-up details. It is better to shoot in pieces, without moving the camera from one object to another, but by pressing pause.
Step 3
Keep straight. One of the common disadvantages of amateur filming is a blocked horizon. Novice operators simply do not pay attention to this seemingly trifle, but as a result, most of the footage cannot be used for editing. To avoid this mistake, stick to "vertical", focusing on lamp posts, walls of houses, traffic lights.
Step 4
Watch the color rendition. Before shooting indoors under artificial light, it's worth adjusting the white balance. Otherwise, the color may be incorrectly reproduced by the camera, and the faces of people in the video will take on a yellow or blue tint. Ask someone to hold a plain white paper sheet a short distance from the lens, and manually change the settings so that it also looks pure white on the camera screen.
