Perch is one of the most common fish in our country. It is found everywhere: in rivers, lakes, ponds with fresh water. It is especially interesting to catch this fish in winter.
Instructions
Step 1
The stronger the ice cover begins to grow on water bodies, the farther the perch moves away from the coast. A good bite usually starts a week after the ice has completely set and continues until the end of December. In winter, the perch greedily takes the bait. They catch striped fish with a spoon and jig. Spoons are suitable for 3-4 cm long, it is not bad if they are colored. On a sunny day, baubles made of copper and brass are good, on a cloudy day they are made of white metal. Bloodworms, pieces of pork meat, small pieces of fish, fish offal, dung worms and maggots are used as attachments on the jig.
Step 2
As a rule, perch lovers use three main types of fishing rods: float, jig with a guard and tackle for vertical lure. Float tackle is also rarely used. The line should be between 0.08 and 0.15 mm thick. It is noticed that the thinner the line, the better the bite goes. For winter fishing, 10-15 meters of line on a reel will be enough.
Step 3
On the first ice, experienced fishermen advise to catch perch as follows: drill a hole, lower the jig so that it seems to hang in the water column. If you are lucky and you have chosen the right place for fishing, then the bite will not keep you waiting.
Step 4
By the middle of winter, it is more difficult to catch perch, since you have to look for it all over the reservoir. The schools of fish stop migrating and split into small schools, about 5-7 fish in each. Here, the fisherman will come in handy with a preliminary exploration of fish places.
Step 5
In January-February, fishing is complicated by deep snow on the pond, so the more accurately you know the perch places, the easier it will be for you. During this period, the water under the ice is greatly cooled, and the perch goes into deep pits, where the temperature is kept at about four degrees Celsius. Fish during this period is inactive, it reacts poorly even to the most "tasty" baits.
