Pico is a crochet element commonly used to decorate the edges of a piece. Decorative borders look like single or group triangular knots. It is not difficult to learn how to perform a picot, but the result will delight you - a neatly executed pattern looks spectacular and gives festivity and grace to a knitted outfit. You can decorate with such a pattern both crocheted and knitted clothes.

Instructions
Step 1
Start knitting the pico pattern from the right edge of the finished product (as an option, several rows made with crochet or knitting needles). First you need to make a small chain of three air loops. Move the working tool in your right hand as if you were drawing with it.

Insert the hook into the top bow of the buttonhole, located in front of the beginning of the chain. After that, complete one draped loop. Pulling it out, make the next yarn over.
Step 3
Now the working thread needs to be pulled through the two loops formed on the hook. As a result, you get the so-called "pico with a single crochet".

Leave the required number of columns (for example, 3-4) untied along the edge of the item to be tied. Usually, their number is indicated in the knitting guides for specific patterns.

Insert the hook into the bow of the next column (for example, in the fourth or fifth from the base of the first knot). Then knit a new picot triangle.
Step 6
Try knitting a pico with a single crochet pattern. To do this, you also need to start work with three air loops, then the hook should go into the base of the chain - the first air loop.
Step 7
Run one yarn over, then pull the working thread through both eyelets on the hook - you will have a simple half-column.
Step 8
A more complex pattern of three pico triangles is called a "trefoil". One finished decorative element resembles a small bouquet of leaves pointing up, right and left. To complete it, you need to make three picos at once with a half-column without a crochet.

Then the hook must go into the loop that covers the first triangle. Make a yarn over and pull the thread through a couple of loops on the crochet hook. Gently (without excessive tension!) Tighten the "trefoil" so that the three picos are gathered into a single decor element.
