Many things for home decoration can be done by hand. Macrame style allows using knots to create very beautiful interior details that cannot be bought in a store. In this technique, you can weave an owl, and with minimal cost.

It is necessary

  • - cord 4 mm thick (27 m);
  • - two wooden planks 20-25 cm long;
  • - buttons for owl eyes.

Instructions

Step 1

Cut 10 strands of 2.5 meters. 2 m of thread will remain for the buttonhole. Hang on the bar all the threads of 2.5 m. Divide the 20 ends of the threads into five groups of 4 threads each. Tie a square knot on each group. On both sides, pull the 2 outer threads to the side. There are 16 threads left. Divide them into 4 groups and also tie a square knot on each of them.

Step 2

Pull back 2 threads at the edges. Weave three square knots on the remaining strands. And so, repeat until you have made one last knot. This is called staggered weaving. Take the strand on the left and diagonally to the right. Tie 8 rep knots on it using the left half of the threads. Do the same for the right side. Do not touch the two center threads. As a result, you should end up with diagonal braces made of rep knots.

Step 3

Weave a chain of 4 square knots on 4 medium strands. From this you will then make the nose of an owl - a "pea". Secure this pea with a square knot. Take the 3 strands on the left and weave a chain of 8 square knots on them. Make the same chain on the right. Take the right thread from the left chain and pull it towards the pea. On this thread, weave a bridle of 7 rep knots. Repeat the same steps on the right side. With the eighth knot, tie the base thread on it from the left strand (middle thread). On the same base threads, weave oblique braces on either side of the center.

Step 4

Pull the working thread from the right strand obliquely to the left and weave a strand of 10 rep knots on it. Weave the braid on the left working thread in the same way. Weave another braid on both sides. Next, weave with an expanding "checkerboard" from square knots. In the last row, do not tie the central knot. Hang the ends of the threads on the second bar with rep knots. Divide the strands in half and make two brushes with a braid. Cut the thread to the desired length.

Step 5

To make a loop, hang the remaining 2m thread on one side of the top bar. Weave a snake chain of the required length. Reps knots secure the thread on the other side of the bar. Cut the thread and sew on the wrong side of the weave. Sew on the button eyes and the owl is ready.
