A beautifully and correctly shot interior can be useful in a portfolio for both a beginner and a professional photographer. The main secrets of a successful shot in this genre are, firstly, the ability to put the light correctly, secondly, choose a successful composition and, thirdly, create a truly attractive and cozy atmosphere in the rented room. The ability to correctly photograph the windows in the room is especially difficult. the photographer will have to “fight” the light from outside.
It is necessary
- - camera;
- - wide angle lens;
- - tripod;
Instructions
Step 1
Use a wide angle lens. This is useful if you are shooting indoors in a small space and your framing options are limited. Wide-angle optics visually expand the space, so you can easily shoot even in the narrowest of spaces. This type of optics is suitable for shooting architectural objects, interiors, including windows.
Step 2
Use a flash. It is best if it is an external flash. It will illuminate the interior inside and objects in the foreground in front of the window (table, chairs, walls, radiators, people) will not fall into the darkness due to the light falling outside.
Step 3
Look for the angle you want. Move relative to your subject (in this case, a window) until you find the best position. The light from the window should fall slightly from the side, so as not to expose the picture completely. Find the best position and only then shoot. Particularly impressive will look a picture in which the sunset or dawn light of the sun falls slightly from the side, filling the space of the room, but not completely illuminating it.
Step 4
Use a tripod for shooting. This tool frees your hands to make composition adjustments or add objects to your interior without having to constantly adjust composition and exposure. Play with the effect of reflection of different interior items in the window glass.
Step 5
Watch your white balance. Avoid blue shots. This defect can be corrected in Photoshop, but it is better to immediately create a high-quality image than to redo it later in the program. Try shooting at different times of the day. You will be able to capture the morning sun, blue evening, etc. Use appropriate indoor lighting For evening interiors, use warm indoor light, soft light. For daytime - diffused cold lighting.
